Based upon the knowledge, I decided it's time to take off the extra pounds I've been hanging onto and carrying around for awhile. I wanted to let them go so I can set myself free. Here is a little about me...
As a child I was essentially a bean pole, like most kids my age were. But as I got older, my weight started to catch up with me. I wasn't as active as most kids because I likeed watching TV. And, the family nutrition plan consisted of many fried foods, red meat, potatoes, and things that just weren't the healthiest for our bodies. As an adult I found myself now carrying extra weight on my body and I became fairly conscientious about it.Finally, after a difficult time in my life, I decided it was time for a change. Not only did I want one, but I needed one. So, I started working out and getting in shape. After a short while, I started seeing changes in my body and I was feeling good too. I felt good about myself and I knew I was getting stronger and healthier.Eventually that path led me in the direction of obtaining a degree in Exercise Science. In my studies I learned about nutrition, exercise, and how to reduce weight naturally. Not to mention the health benefits of doing so.That journey began over ten years ago and I'm more passionate about body health now than ever. By now I'm sure that you've heard all the hype about the "low carb diets." Or, maybe you've even tried it or some of the others such as the "Hollywood" or "Starvation" Diets. I have to admit that I've even tried going some of those routes myself. Fortunately, I've gathered some information and learned more about those diets. I want to be healthy and reduce weight naturally. Because of this desire, I have decided to avoid the fad diets and go with something that is good for my body and will help me keep the weight off for the long haul. None of the "fad diets" will provide that benefit for me.Years of research has shown that the body requires certain food nutrients in order to operate at optimum levels. In choosing a "low carb" or "no carb" diet, you limit or even completely go without carbohydrates. In doing so, you're cutting out one of the main nutrients the body needs for energy. Carbohydrates are the main energy source for nearly all of the physical activities you perform. Without carbs, the body has to find some other source of energy. In it's search, it will find protein. It will pull energy from protein stores in the muscle. Not only does that deplete essential muscle mass and strength, it is unhealthy and unnatural as well. Not to mention the negative affect that eating a lot of protein can have on your colon and consuming a lot of fat can have on your heart.The Hollywood diet only causes water weight loss because it's ultimate affect is to flush out the system causing excessive liquid waste. This could lead up to a 10 pound drop in weight. However, those 10 pounds would be gained back in a matter of a couple of days when normal food consumption takes place.
